Our History
1993: Select is founded in Bridlington East Yorkshire by Mark.
1993-1996: A business connection is made with Hull-based ingredients blending company. Mark works alongside butchers, bakers and food processors to create a range of sausage & burger mixes, seasonings, pie gravy mixes, bacon cures and much more.
1996: The product range grows and branches into other food trade ingredients including lards, fats, sausage casings and flavour glazes.
1997: Mark pursues the idea of creating a ‘one-stop’ food sundries company and sources a reliable group of packaging and cleaning product manufacturers. This then allows him to offer a complete range of sundries at competitive prices.

Mark Strathearn
Founder & Owner
Mark founded Select Sundries in 1993, starting the business from a small shed in his back garden. Over 30 years later, his industry knowledge, commitment to customers and hands-on approach remain at the heart of the company.
Enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
Office Manager
Lee Varley
Lee joined Select Sundries in 2018, initially working in deliveries and despatch before progressing to Office Manager. He now helps oversee the day-to-day running of the business, including customer orders, stock control, purchasing and deliveries.
Enjoys golf, rugby league and spending time with his family.
Daniel Charles
Delivery & Despatch
Daniel plays an important role in keeping Select Sundries running smoothly, overseeing deliveries and despatch while helping customers with their day-to-day enquiries. His friendly approach and dedication to customer service make him a valued member of the team.
Passionate about cooking and enjoys spending time with his family.
